Continue reading »]]> The last AFF course of the season started today. Instead of 7 we ended up with 4 candidates. Nice group with Eddie Jefferies from Alabama, Thomas Dahl from Norway and Keith and Sarah from the Airforce Academy in Colorado. We started to day with AFF pre-course. The weather is great for jumping :)
         
In the meantime it is Tuesday May 1. Three people are left in the course and we are ready to go “hot” The only thing not cooperating at the moment is the weather.
We have the Category C ground prep out of the way. We’ll do the D this afternoon and are keeping our fingers crossed for better weather.

Continue reading »]]> This week’s group is just a class of three with Mummi from Iceland trying out as a fourth. David Cupcake Pugin,  Kyle Schiegner and Michale Hotchkiss from New Mexico are in the course. So far we spent the day mostly in class because of the wind and the clouds.
      
Sunday April 15:
We were on load 1 this morning, got one jump in and the winds started howling again so back to ground work.
We are hoping for calmer weather later in the day.
      
Monday April 16:
Today is weird weather day. We made a jump and the weather turned bad. Back to ground work. Some clearance: we jumped again and again the clouds came in and we were back doing ground work, we are back on an airplane as I am typing this. Got a lot done though!
      
   
       
All and all a great day, some good progression in the jumps and most of the ground preps are done.

Continue reading »]]> Today is the start of a new AFF course. We have 5 candidates this time. Philipp from Germany, Ben from Canada, Tadas, Morgan and Adam from the USA.
After the initial briefing, which usually takes a bit longer because we go over exits and flying techniques in general, we were able to get one practice jump in.
When we were ready for our second load, the winds turned gusty and we decided to start class instead.

        
       
We have been doping lots of ground preps and lots of jumping and the courseis almost finished.
